Senior web development consulting for B2B teams that need things built, fixed, or untangled. A solo practice helping businesses design, build, and maintain custom web systems — especially the projects that are already complex, or about to become complex.
ACFModularPerformant
ACF-driven, modular, performance-focused builds. Block patterns, editorial tooling, and architectures your content team will actually enjoy using.
LaravelFilamentDashboards
Custom admin panels, internal tools, and business applications. From MVPs to long-lived operational software.
APIsCRMsPayments
Stitching together APIs, CRMs, payment systems, and third-party services so the data moves where it should and nothing breaks at 2am.
LegacyMigrationRefactor
Site rebuilds and platform migrations handled with care. Inheriting complex codebases and carefully modernizing them — without a big-bang rewrite.
UptimeAuditsMaintenance
Performance audits, reliability work, and ongoing maintenance — the unglamorous work that keeps a system healthy for years.
Sheppard Web Development is a solo consultancy, not a staffing agency or a multi-layer shop. I work directly with founders, internal teams, and other agencies as a senior technical partner — the person writing the code, not the person managing the person writing the code.
That means engagements are small by design: consulting on architecture and trade-offs, advising teams mid-flight, and building the parts that need the most care. One point of contact, one opinionated brain, no slideware.
Most projects start the same way: clarifying the real problem, simplifying the system around it, and then building only what actually moves the business forward. I'd rather remove three features than add one that shouldn't exist.
Before a single line of code, we pin down what the system actually needs to do — and what it doesn't. Most engagements change shape here.
Complex systems reward subtraction. We reshape the architecture around the few things that actually drive the business forward.
Build the work — carefully, with tests where they matter — and stay in to maintain, extend, and keep things reliable for the long haul.
Send over what you're working on — an existing site, a half-finished prototype, a tangled integration, or just a rough idea. I'll reply within a business day with honest thoughts on scope, fit, and whether a consulting, advisory, or build engagement makes the most sense.
